Pneumatic gate valve features and main uses
Jun 27, 2018

Pneumatic gate valves are valves that are driven by compressed air. When selecting such devices, in addition to clarifying specifications, categories, and working pressure, more detailed technical requirements must be provided to ensure that suitable pneumatics can be selected. gate.

Pneumatic shut-off valve is a type of pneumatic valve. Its opening and closing element is a plug-shaped valve flap. The sealing surface is flat or tapered. The valve flap moves along the centerline of the fluid in a straight line. The valve stem has a lifting rod type and a lifting rotary rod type. It is suitable for full opening and full closing and does not allow adjustment and throttling.

Since the pneumatic shut-off valve in the pneumatic gate valve is a forced-seal valve, when the valve is closed, pressure must be applied to the valve flap to force the sealing surface not to leak. When the medium enters the valve flap from below the valve flap, the resistance that the operating force needs to overcome is the friction force of the stem and the packing and the thrust generated by the pressure of the medium. The force of closing the valve is greater than the force of opening the valve, so the valve The diameter of the rod must be large, otherwise a failure of the stem bending may occur.

In recent years, after the emergence of the self-sealing valve, the medium flow of the stop valve has been changed from above the valve flap into the valve chamber. At this time, under the pressure of the medium, the force to close the valve is small, and the force to open the valve is large. The diameter can be reduced accordingly. At the same time, this type of valve is also tighter under the influence of the medium.
