Corrosion resistance of various stainless steels
304 is a versatile stainless steel that is widely used in the production of equipment and parts requiring good comprehensive performance (corrosion resistance and formability).
301 Stainless Steel In the deformation of the apparent processing hardening phenomenon, is used to require higher intensity of various occasions.
302 Stainless steel is essentially a variant of 304 stainless steel with a higher carbon content, which can be obtained by cold rolling to obtain a higher strength.
302B is a high silicon content of stainless steel, it has high high-temperature oxidation resistance.
303 and 303Se are easy to cut stainless steel which contains sulfur and selenium respectively, and are used for the main requirements of easy cutting and table and high light. 303Se stainless steel is also used for the production of hot upsetting parts, because under such conditions, this kind of stainless steel has a good thermal processability.
304L is a variant of 304 stainless steel with low carbon content, used for welding occasions. The lower carbon content minimizes the amount of carbide precipitated in the heat-affected zone near the weld, and the precipitation of carbides may lead to intergranular corrosion in some environments (weld erosion).
304N is a nitrogen-containing stainless steel, adding nitrogen to increase the strength of the steel.
305 and 384 stainless steel containing high nickel, the processing of low hardening rate, applicable to the cold molding of the high requirements of various occasions.
308 stainless steel is used for making electrode.
309, 310, 314 and 330 stainless steel nickel, chromium content is relatively high, in order to improve the steel at high temperature of the oxidation resistance and creep strength. The 30S5 and 310S are variants of 309 and 310 stainless steel, the difference being that the carbon content is lower, so that the carbide precipitates near the weld are minimized. 330 stainless steel has a particularly high resistance to carburizing and thermal shock resistance.
316 and 317 stainless steel contain aluminum, so the resistance to pitting corrosion in the marine and chemical industry environment is much better than 304 stainless steel. Among them, the type 316 stainless steel by variants including Low-carbon stainless steel 316L, nitrogen-containing high-strength stainless steel 316N and the high sulfur content of easy cutting stainless steel 316F.
